Frey's Saga continues in this volume. Cassandra, his pregnant wife, is kidnapped and sold as a slave in England. Frey is desperate to find her, encountering many trials and challenges during his quest. As the years pass, his search has provided few hints of her whereabouts. Trygve jarl dies, and is succeeded by his grandson. A number of the villagers leave Norway to head to a new home.
