Francis Bacon was a great English philosopher and one of the founders of the modern system of political philosophy. He is in the row with the greatest thinkers as Isaac Newton, John Locke, Immanuel Kant, Thomas Hobbes, and Jean Rousseau. Bacon was appointed as a part of the legal team headed by the Attorney General Sir Edward Coke to investigate the charges against Essex in 1601. After a number of Essex's followers confessed that he had planned a rebellion against the Queen Elizabeth, Essex was executed for treason in 1601. After the execution, the Queen ordered Bacon to write the official government account of the trial, which was later published as A DECLARATION OF THE PRACTICES AND TREASONS ATTEMPTED AND COMMITTED BY ROBERT LATE EARLE OF ESSEX AND HIS COMPLICES, AGAINST HER MAJESTIE AND HER KINGDOMS.

Francis Bacon’s APOLOGIES was published in 1604, after the succession of James I, to defend his proceedings in the case of Essex since Essex had contributed and supported James to succeed to the seat. The essay is regarded as one of the most important legal writings by Bacon and is seen as an effort by Bacon who attempted to express his views about the legal systems of England and put his influence on building the systems in a theoretical way.

Bacon is forever remembered as essential enabler, reformer, philosophical advocate, and practitioner of the scientific method during the scientific revolution through his extremely influential works.
