In the course of publishing this food guide, some restaurants changed ownership, while others simply closed down. And then there were others who have just ventured out and perhaps are not mentioned in this food guide. That’s the nature of this sector where sudden entry and exit is also a reality and the market determines their fate. But it also promotes survival of the best and encourages thinking outside the box. Most importantly, it is the patrons and dining public who determine a restaurant’s survival and success by their presence. And that is the way it should always be as the entire industry moves ahead — striving for perfection.
Doing a food guide is never easy. The entire team worked hard and long hours to try and include as many restaurants, bars and establishments as possible. It was hard work, many meetings and a lot of research. But it was something that we enjoyed as it updated our personal knowledge of the culinary delights that Nepal has to offer.
