The disciples waited eagerly by the Sea of Galilee, just as Jesus had instructed them. Their crucified Savior had risen from the dead and promised to meet them in Galilee, where they spent so much time together. Framed in the backdrop of Galilee’s familiar shore, Jesus instructed the Eleven to go and make disciples. They were to disciple others just as he had discipled them. This command still directs the Church’s mission today.

Follow the Master: How Jesus Made Disciples encourages Christians to make disciples by following Jesus’ example. He defined what it means to be a disciple and modeled the process during his earthly ministry. We will become more effective disciple makers when we understanding the things Jesus taught and the way he trained his disciples.

A discipleship curriculum based on the philosophy presented here is available in the companion book, Follow the Master: A Discipleship Course for Growing Christians. This 34 lesson curricula provides a tool that compliments the approach presented here. Taken together, these two resources will equip the average Christian to fulfill the Great Commission in a manner that produces mature disciples of Jesus.
