Fleeing the Storm is a 4,000 word erotic story intended for adult audiences.
On her way to cover a story about riots raging in the Midwest Kari Millen finds herself driving through a fierce storm along an isolated unlit interstate. After she hears a loud thud from under the vehicle she loses control and the car spins tossing her around before crashing to the shoulder.
With a busted cell phone and no Internet access on her laptop her only hope arrives when two headlights grow toward her out of the storm. A stranger arrives, offers his assistance, a ride, and a warm place to stay as the two flee the storm.
When Kari arrives at Mark's house she learns that his wife Katy, whose picture she spotted in his truck, sadly passed away leaving the two alone together in the old farm house. Mark offers Kari his and Katy's old room and a chance to change into any of Katy's clean clothes before he bides her goodnight and makes his way to his room down the hall.
While working on her laptop lightening strikes a power line off the road and plunges the house into darkness. Mark offers Kari some candles to light the room for the evening and she accepts. When he enters the room he sees her in one of Katy's outfits and the resemblance leaves him speechless.
After he lights the candles he's about to leave when Kari asks him to help her understand the community she's supposed to report on. When Mark shares his and Katy's story with her she's touched and wants to make a connection with Mark.
To thank him for all his help and to offer him some support in his grief Kari offers to be Katy for him and the two lose themselves in the fantasy.
Follow along as Mark gets the chance to spend one more night with his wife and Kari gets the opportunity to reward him for all his help.
