Teenage Felicia smacks her rival across the face with the loudest of slaps. Her victim, a girl twice Felicia’s height and weight, helplessly staggers back, completely stunned by Felicia’s brazen move.

“That’s what happens to anybody who disses me!” taunts Felicia.

Felicia stands casually in front of the girl. She balls her fists as she watches the girl slowly regain her composure. Felicia makes a quick menacing move with her arms, causing the girl to slightly flinch.

“Come on!” orders Felicia to the girl.

The girl warily approaches. It is clear she is in pain. She holds a hand to the side of her head as she steps towards Felicia. Her eyes wander aimlessly. Her face is drenched with nervous sweat. Just as the girl appears to make a definitive fighting move, a voice is heard loud and clear. It is authoritative and intimidating. It is Felicia’s grandmother, Edith.

“Leave that girl alone! If you don’t get your butt over here, I’m gonna knock you into next Wednesday!” roars Grandma Edith.

Felicia frowns in humiliation as the adrenaline suddenly drains from her veins. The relieved victim slumps on the ground and leans against a tree.

“When are you going to stop this, huh? When? I can’t take this anymore! Who are you? I don’t even know you anymore, Licia!” exclaims Grandma Edith.

…Felicia sits quietly during the drive home, perfectly masking her inner rage. If only Grandma knew what indecencies were inflicted upon me, thinks Felicia. If only Grandma knew how much of my girlhood was stolen from me, then she would know me. Then all would know me.
