Looking back, it was easy to see that Casey had always been in love with Andrew.
From the day the handsome young black man had rescued him from those bullies, they became close. Wherever one was, there was the other. Casey always wrote it off as hero worship and admiration of his best friend but now he knew better.
It all came together one night, in the heat of passion. Andrew was home from college back East. The talk was real. The desire, palpable. The passion, overwhelming.
But Andrew changed the moment it was over, casting Casey out. Phone calls and texts were ignored, then his friend shows up out of nowhere. They go for a very memorable ride. Things happen. It's all better, right?
Not so. Casey is left more lonely and confused than ever. Why has his handsome best friend and sometimes lover cast him aside? One conversation kept going over and over in his mind...
"I mean, the girls are fun and all but for that someone special..." said Andrew. "You know, there has to be more. You have to connect on a much deeper level." I nodded. "I think I got spoiled, hanging around with you." What?
"Me?"
"Yeah," he said, smiling. "The kind of connection we have. We laugh at the same stuff. How we have each others' backs. How we can talk about anything." He paused for a bit, thinking. Finally, he added, "I need you. As a girl. That would be perfect."
Would it? Filled with determination Casey was ready to do anything, just to find out!
