George Washington Carver's Legacy

The 1943 U.S. Congress created a George Washington Carver National Monument and later designated a George Washington Carver Day, issued by President Truman.  Mr. Washington appeared on a stamp and on a fifty-cent U.S. coin.  The scientist was also enshrined in the Popular Mechanics Magazine, Agricultural, and Great Americans Hall of Fames. Several university buildings were dedicated to him.
