Evil Turn

This is a modern crime story in the classic English tradition. Nathan Hawk does a favour for an old colleague, a man he’s never much cared for. He agrees to house a terrified and bedraggled young murder witness, along with two SOU officers, for a short period before the trial at The Old Bailey. Hawk quickly realises, maybe he knew all along, that he’s being used. The old colleague, a man known for getting others to do his dirty work, has gambled that Hawk won’t be able to resist poking his nose into the evidence. He’s right, of course. Hawk is just the man to fend off an attack by the IRA, find thirteen million poundsworth of heroin and catch a murderer – no matter how much danger it involves.
