Ethyl Friddle didn't plan to be a cat collector. It came about one day when Ethyl saw a certain cat being batted with a broom. Of course she knew right off that was a cat that needed saving. She was forced her to tell a lie. One lie led to another--as is often the case. Before Ethyl knew it, she had multiple problems: First, she had a big cat problem. She also found that she had become an 'item' at school--with Fred Williams--which was completely against her parents' rules.
