This eBook introduces the subject of number patterns and sequences at Grades 3, 4 & 5, and introduces odd and even numbers, square numbers, square roots, factors, prime numbers, multiples, simple sequences and special sequences (including square number sequences, the Fibonacci series and triangular numbers).
This eBook is part of our range of Grades 3, 4 & 5 math eBooks that are aligned with the North American math curriculum.
Our Grade 3, 4 & 5 math eBooks comprise three principle sections. These are, notably:
•Number and Algebra
•Shape, Space and Measure
•Handling Data
In addition, there exists for Grades 3, 4 & 5 a Publications Guide eBook, a Mental Math eBook and a Times Table Practice eBook. We also produce a combined Grades 1 & 2 and Grades 3, 4 & 5 Times Table Practice eBook.
Our math eBooks are produced such as that as well as a Publications Guide, and three principle publications corresponding to the principle sections (Number and Algebra, Shape, Space and Measures as well as Handling Data) there are individual modules produced within each principle section which are published as eBooks.
Number Patterns and Sequences is a module within the Number and Algebra principle section our Grades 3, 4 & 5 publications. It is one module out of a total of eight modules in that principle section, the others being:
•Counting Practice
•Integers
•Fractions, Percentages and Ratio
•Decimals
•Addition and Subtraction Practice
•Multiplication and Division Practice
•Algebra
After studying Elementary School 'Grades 3, 4 & 5 - Math – Number Patterns and Sequences - Ages 8-11' eBook your child or the student should be confidently able to:
-recognise and describe number patterns including simple incremental offset number patterns, two- and three-digit multiples of 2, 5 or 10, square number patterns (up to 10x10), triangular number patterns and the numbers of the Fibonacci series.
-use words and number relationships to calculate incremental numbers in a sequence, and test these.
-understand what prime numbers are, identify and recognise prime numbers up to 20 as well as to find prime factor pairs and all the prime factors of any two-digit integer.
In it we also introduce the child to square roots.
