Earthlink: Impact is a short novella, and begins the Earthlink series, introducing Sage Gardiner.
What if something is up thre, hidden in high orbit, watching and waiting? What if the Earth is evolving and developing a mind of its own? What if the only being alive who can hear that mind is about to kill herself by crashing a car stolen after a night of drink and drugs?
Sage is just 18, a messed up teenager who thinks she's hearing voices. She's been in and out of psychiatric care, told she's hallucinating and made to take drugs that split her from her feelings. So, she refuses to take them. And she insists she doesn't hear voices. It's just a single voice, screaming in pain.
As she lies, unconscious, in a smoking car wreck the watchers decide that intervention has become necessary.
