A collection of short contemporary and speculative fiction, with touches of romance and humour. The stories explore issues of our time such as wearable technology and the infiltration of robots into every day life, as well as age-old themes of trust and betrayal, revenge, social change and the drive for success.

Dronejack

It's easy to imagine hijacking a drone, but what would happen if a drone did the same in reverse and hijacked a human life? In this story an immature robot does just that. Some disturbing parallels with the rewards and burdens of sole parenting.

Real

A young man's thoughts are in space but in real life he's heading for a crash.

Point of View

Can love and commitment survive in a future where life is lived in the spotlight of ubiquitous surveillance, and human relationships are nothing but fodder for smothering social media?

Power

The entitled one percent are used to getting their way. In this story a hairdresser fights back, with unanticipated consequences.

A Touch of Smirk

A story about an actual alien. An irrepressible travel entrepreneur has a problem to solve. He calls on cash-strapped researchers out for all they can get for help, and creates a terrible problem in cross-species communication.
