Was the night . . . humid, moist, or wet? Is the right word on the tip of your tongue, but you’re tongue-tied? Have your characters developed minds of their own, barricaded themselves in a bank vault, and refused to make an appearance on your computer screen? What do you do now?

You want to write, but how do you find time? It’s easy. Anyone can find an extra fifteen minutes in his or her day to write something—just don't view it as a task. Instead, give (as in gift) yourself permission to write fifteen minutes a day. I find even with my busy schedule, the fifteen-minute gift keeps me on target and all my other projects still end up completed.

When do you use lie and lay; affect and effect; irritate and aggravate? Is it okay to split infinites, end a sentence with a pronoun, begin a sentence with the word “but”? Is the Oxford comma necessary or should it be sent to hell with adverbs?
