Dr. Claudia Baldwin fails to save her wife’s life on the operating table. Although the hospital clears the doctor of any wrongdoing, her in-laws are pushing for custody, so she takes their baby daughter and, along with her father, she disappears into the northwest wilderness.

Eight years later, Whitney Daniels, an up and coming cable host, uncovers Claudia’s identity when the doctor saves her life. The cable host is in town looking for a mysterious viewer who presents himself as a wilderness expert named Blackgold. Whitney realizes revealing the doctor’s identity is the big break she needs for entrance into the world of real news reporting that she’s always wanted. The revelation will expose the doctor to unfavorable scrutiny and she may lose her daughter if her identity is revealed.
