Destiny

Pretty ladies would smile at James when they saw his muscular features and thick dark hair. Often, they had initiated conversations with him. He had always felt comfortable talking to a lady that approached him. And, he liked the excitement of asking them out for the first date. Usually, the ladies said yes. But when an IED blew up his Hummer in Iraq, everything changed. Now he regrets his shame when they see the shiny metal claw that resides where his hand should be. If only he could erase that horrible day in Iraq. Then, one day while feeding the squirrels after his morning jog, James met Liz. Like previous attractive ladies, she approached him and introduced herself. She is young, smart, and sexy. She could have any guy. She doesn’t seem to care whether James has a prosthesis. Why is she different? Does she like James? Is there hope for romance in the life of this wounded soldier?
