And we meet the two women in his life: Khala, the blind pleasure slave whose espionage network is key to the success of the Five, and Lissa, his bedwarmer, who has no fear of dassuks.
Leron knows that the power of the Five will never be secure until he imposes his will on the Mantz, the industrialists, the weaponmasters, whose wealth and influence pose a permanent challenge. How he achieves this through diplomacy, intrigue and selective assassination is revealed, and how, along the way, he acquires a new weapon.
