A hopeless romantic in his early twenties, "Cru" becomes disillusioned with life in his hometown. So with nothing but a bag full of clothes slung over his shoulder he hitches a ride west on the Trans-Canada highway hoping that somewhere along the way he’ll discover new purpose. He quickly finds, however, that no matter how far he runs his problems have a strange way of resurfacing. The story is set across the beautiful scenery of Midwestern Canada and the United States--from dense evergreen forests to the wide-open prairies--from the holiest of highs in Utah to the lowest of lows in Sin City. Along the way he encounters wild characters who rekindle his appetite for humor, broken women who show him tough love and kindness, and even old friends who remind him that no matter how bad things may seem he’s not alone. Slowly through the relationships of the road he begins to peel away the layers of torment until he reaches Las Vegas where he’s faced with a fierce battle between the life he desires and the devils who are determined to force his demise. Will he ever find what he’s looking for? Will he ever get to where he’s going? And will he ever answer the question--who is Cru? Or, will he let it all fade away like another forgotten dream?
