Accustomed to the finer things that her daddy’s money can buy, Anya reluctantly agrees to a year on the family ranch, a rite of passage for heirs of the Brandywine fortune.  Expecting to be met by a driver in a limousine, she sees a pickup truck covered with dried mud.  The dirty vehicle reeks of manure, but one look at the sexy cowboy whose hands are on the wheel of the aromatic vehicle and Anya decides that a year away from the city may not be so bad.

Excerpt:

When Anya first arrived at the Brandywine Ranch, Dylan was assigned to teach her all aspects of a working ranch.  He had volunteered for the job, a little too eagerly, once he had seen a photograph of the Brandywine princess.  Anya was beautiful, with long flowing locks of auburn hair and bright blue eyes.  But Dylan had no interest in anyone as young as Anya.  He was in his mid thirties, and a twenty-two year old woman from the city was not part of his life plan.  He was ready to settle down, but a spoiled little rich girl was not wife material to a man like him.

Anya arrived in a frilly bright sundress and white open toed sandals, and Dylan tried not to laugh when she attempted to wipe the dirt off the seat of his truck.  She finally gave up and sat down carefully, crossing her legs and holding her purse in her lap.

Dylan opened the door to his Montana home and waved Anya inside.  She stepped inside and looked around for the woman with whom she was supposed to live.

“Where is Debbie?”

“Change of plans, I’m afraid.  Debbie is home with her newborn baby.”

“I have to stay here alone?”

“Nah.  I’ll be here.”

Anya backed away as if she had been threatened with a gun to her head.

“Honey, there are two bedrooms, and I’ll be out of here in the morning before your pretty blue eyes see the light of day.”

Anya managed a slight smile, but she stood as still as a statue as Dylan brought her bags inside and placed them in the front bedroom.

“All set.  My room is way back there.”  He pointed toward the back of the cabin past the kitchen.

As soon as Dylan turned his back, Anya scampered to the little room and closed the door.

The first morning on the ranch Anya was awakened at 5:00 in the morning, and she looked at Dylan through half opened eyes.  “Are you crazy?”

“Nope.  I will see you outside in ten minutes.”

Anya placed her feet on the cold floor.  “It’s dark outside,” she whined, but Dylan was already gone.
