“For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.”

What does spiritual freedom mean to a new Christian? When everyone around is caught up in immorality, and you're bombarded with constant temptation, how do you stand for righteousness? The fledgling church in Corinth was floundering with these questions, as the believers struggled to sort out their new found faith while living in a city overtaken with corruption and idolatry. Paul wrote this pastoral letter to the church he had established in Corinth.

While addressing the Corinthian believers specifically, the letter is relevant to all followers of Christ.

An overarching theme in the book of 1 Corinthians is the need for true Christian love -- love that will settle lawsuits and conflicts between brothers. A lack of genuine love was clearly an undercurrent in the Corinthian church, creating disorder in worship and the misuse of spiritual gifts. Paul spends a great deal of time describing the proper role of spiritual gifts and dedicates an entire chapter—1 Corinthians--to the definition of love.

Corinthians (1 and 2) is presented here in stunning E-book format specially designed for the Kindle. It includes five different versions, a gallery of art featuring the apostle Paul from Caravaggio, Enrique Simonet, Valentin de Boulogne and other renowned artists and links to free complete audio recordings of both ‘Corinthians.’
