Christmas in Kauai Hawaii

“Aloha….welcome to Kauai in Hawaii”
walking on the Kalalau Trail to Hanakapiai Beach
in the rain to reach the Na Pali coast,
to witness the majestic emerald green pinnacles

driving to Waimea Canyon State Park
to see the spectacular “Grand Canyon of the Pacific” and
walking the Lilau Trail full of hala indigenous trees

hiking the next day into Lumahai Beach
and walking the two miles around the crescent white beach
where Mitzi Gaynor sang in “South Pacific”

enjoying Hanalei Bay with my feet sinking into the white sands
while watching young boys surf with visions
of riding the waves of the North Shore

finding the secluded and hidden Sea Lodge Beach,
going for a swim and feeling free
like a little boy again walking along the beach
