Summer and Cole are staying with their grandma for the summer. They are two inquisitive kids full of imagination. With their dog Corky; they have had many imaginary adventures on their grandmas farm. This time when they enter the forest they realize there is more to the land than just trees. They become aware of terrible magical events happening in Chigger Hollow, creatures and places they have only seen in their imaginations. Princess Aily, the leader of the Faye Fairy kingdom has lost the Emerald Key in a battle with the Wood Trolls. The Emerald Key locks the gate to Fairy Circle and protects the Emerald Tree, the source of power for the Faye Fairies. With the help of their new friend Nickterpopper, who found the Emerald Key while scavenging for magical ingredients, they embark on a quest to bring the Emerald Key back and lock the magical gate at Fairy Circle to keep the Wood Trolls from destroying the Emerald Tree.
