When Liz learns that her husband, a special agent for the F.B.I., has been killed by an enraged bank robber who refused to be taken alive, her life is changed forever.

Carlee, her childhood friend, whom she hadn’t seen in a while, sends an invitation to meet her in China hoping that a change of direction in her life would help her overcome the loss. Liz decides to go to this country where her grandparents had served as missionaries for years.

After arriving in Beijing, Liz cannot find her carry-on. In the process of trying to remember what she had done with it, a British agent/inspector returns her bag and soon she is escorted into a room where all of her luggage is inspected. What they find in her luggage generates suspicion that she maybe a culprit in a case the Chinese government and the British agent are investigating.

Carlee and Liz continue their tour, but Liz feels like she is being watched all the time. Her goal of sharing God’s love is thwarted by the Chinese laws against religion. Will she be sent to prison? Will she be deported? Or will she find peace, happiness and love?
