Billy and Stephen had no idea that crossing the highway to hunt would change their lives. But when they were captured by the dreaded military and taken to an encampment hundreds of miles away from their home and families, their lives were changed forever.
Imprisoned in an encampment far north of their Florida home, the two boys live in squalid cabins along with other people that have no choice but to slave their lives away for the government. They are probed and tested for a chip that all people living in The Federal United States must have implanted in their bodies to be considered a citizen, but when Stephen and Billy are given IQ tests and it is determined their intelligence quotients are very high, their lives change again.
They go from living in a dilapidated shack and eating food they wouldn’t have fed their dogs back home, to living in a luxurious VIP suite and eating the best food the camp has to offer. The government gives the boys the job of looking for ways to make the encampment run more efficiently until they can be picked up and taken to a school for people earmarked to run the country.
Their new lives are a dream come true to the other people living in the encampment, but all Billy and Stephen want to do is go home. They use their positions to feed information to a group called The People’s Republic and their escape seems imminent, until Kevin’s jealousy boils over and he informs the sergeant of their plans.
Will Stephen and Billy be able to escape with the help of The People’s Republic? Will they ever make it back home? Read CAPTURED, the third book in the series Lights Out, and find out.
