Bilingual collection of poetry, English and Italian, written on the California Desert from the year 2013 to 2015.
Traveling in the light of the desert is nothing less than a poetic meditation on the landscape as well as the self. The space around and inside is observed as seemingly moving in and out of dreams, and of spiritual and geographical realities. Above all is serenity and the choice to live in the present fully, leaving the past behind.
Silence and the vast spaces are admired and invoked as well as the chasing of the white spaces between letters or the sandy spaces laying between one village and another. The texts of the poems, linear and minimal, leaves room for the reader to be led on a personal journey. The placement of the words on paper induces the reader to read the poems multiple times during which the sense of the poem will change. You can travel being still, thanks to the writing.
The text collected here are a total of eighty, forty poems in each language.
Raccolta di poesia bilingue, inglese e italiano, scritta on the road in California dall'anno 2013 al 2015. Il viaggio nella luce e nel deserto è una meditazione poetica sul paesaggio come sul sé. Si osserva lo spazio intorno e interno, si entra ed esce da sogni come da realtà spirituali e geografiche. Pervade la serenità e la scelta di vivere il presente pienamente lasciando i problemi al passato. I testi delle poesie lineari e minimalisti lasciano spazio al lettore per essere condotto lui stesso in un viaggio personale, come la scelta della posizione delle parole sul foglio incita a riletture durante le quali il senso della poesia cambierà di volta in volta. Si ammirano i silenzi raccontati e invocati, li si inseguono come gli spazi bianchi tra le lettere o gli spazi sabbiosi tra un centro abitato e un altro.
