Building a Character Culture for Trust and Results in the Workplace is the first in the La Maison du Parc series. Through a story about a restaurant, it presents many of the challenging situations that my clients face every day, identifies the problems in a clear manner, and follows up with supporting research and practical tools. The book introduces the Character Culture Framework which underpins all the stories. Part One—The Story. You will read about a young woman who inherits from a beloved uncle, a restaurant that needs healthy, engaging leadership. She hires an Executive Coach who supports her and her team with a process that begins by assessing their current culture. The assessment provides valuable information that helps the organization build a plan to leverage their strengths and tackle areas of opportunity in order to thrive—for the benefit of their guests, staff, and the greater community. Part Two—The Evidence. Research that will be integral to the entire La Maison du Parc series is presented within the context of the Character Culture Framework. Understanding people and behaviour, however, is an evolving process, and the Framework will undoubtedly also evolve over time with new research, experiences, and learnings. Part Three—The Tools. A number of practical tools, which also stem from the research, are applied in the story and outlined for you, the reader, in order to demonstrate how they could be used in your organization.
