The intercom fizzled to life again. “Mr. Edwards, your wife has entered her mating form.”

I fumbled with the button and pushed it. “Umm... so far so good?”

There was amusement in his voice when he answered. “Yes, indeed. Everything is textbook at this point.”

I turned my attention back to my wife and her lover. She snarled and I pushed the button to zoom in on the couple further. I had to look closely, but I saw that her canines had also lengthened and her ears seemed to be sharper. She continued to look directly at the camera, and I felt as if she were looking straight at me. I felt my arousal double. Dr. Klum ran out into the enclosure and conducted a hasty conference with my wife as the male Shifter stalked nearby, still in his mating form and, from the look of things, still highly aroused. There was a long pause and the intercom came back to life.

“Mr. Edwards... your wife wants you to be in the enclosure with her.”

“Umm. Will he, you know... be territorial? I mean she’s my wife but those claws are long and I am but a meek, thin skinned human. We break, you know..”

“You should be fine. He’s in a heightened state but he’s not entirely without self-control. . Also, you don’t emit the right kind of pheromones for his animal self to recognize you as a rival male. Do you think you can join them?” I paused.

“Well... in for a dime in for a dollar. How do I get in there?”
