A new method of behavior modification is presented for breaking the itch-scratch cycle associated with skin disorders, and eczema in particular. The method is very easy to employ without delay, and it is not necessary to disrupt any aspects of current therapy or lifestyle. The method uses a technique of suppressing the sensation of itching by transferring the focus from the troublesome area of the body to the location of the hands, and it employs aspects of positive reinforcement. The method was developed by a physician who himself was afflicted and who was unable to effect a resolution of his condition by traditional therapy. This is a method that has the potential to resolve the itch-scratch cycle associated with a variety of disorders of the skin. The text was written for the general reader, but it also includes brief explanations dealing with the neurological aspects of the itch-scratch cycle. 36 pp. when printed, 2 color illustrations, summary, glossary.
