The New York Times recently observed that with the massive influx of undocumented immigrants from Latin America, every town in the US has become a border town, and with it, the whole of the nation is increasingly influenced by the armed authoritarianism of the US Border Patrol, characterized not by diversity, openness and freedom, but by exclusion, towering walls, military-grade technology, ever-present surveillance and armed enforcement.

Immigration legislation will be debated at length, giving Miller many opportunities for op-eds on the top political blog TomDispatch, where he's a regular contributor, as well as at/on The Nation, Huffington Post, Mother Jones, Common Dreams and Guernica, where he regularly writes, too.
