But, on D-Day, the Allied troops don’t launch an attack when or where the enemy prepared to receive them. And liberators are not the ones we expected.

Printemps 1944. Après des années d’occupation, les habitants du Bernières-sur-Mer dans le Calvados guettent avec impatience le grand débarquement qui les affranchira du joug nazi. Mais, le jour J, les troupes alliées ne lancent l’assaut ni au moment ni à l’endroit où l’ennemi se préparait à les recevoir. Et les libérateurs ne sont pas ceux qu’on attendait.

Bas-Canada, 19e siècle, veille du jour de l’An. Isolés en pleine forêt à des kilomètres du plus proche village, des bûcherons concluent un pacte avec Satan.
