This is an essay on the status quo of research into The Kensington Rune Stone, It contends that after all these years and all these claims and counter-claims, we still have little to go on other than the story and the stone. The story of the finding was told by Olof Ohman, but remains uncorroborated by either witness or documentary evidence.

The Newport Tower is a crude, round stone structure in Newport, Rhode Island. It is said that it was built by early colonists, as a windmill. However, there is little evidence to support that claim, and a wealth of evidence indicating that it is of much older construction, probably precolumbian.
