The Tears of the Heart is a compilation of the timeless truths of the Mathnawi. The work elucidates the parables carefully chosen from the Mathnawi in light of the Quran and Sunnah, filtered through the vast ocean of the heart. These parables help one gain acquaintance with his own ego, acknowledge his Creator and penetrate into the truth of matter.

As one of the five principles of Islam, Hajj is both a physical and financial act of worship. Proper fulfillment of this meritorious act depends on an elevated state of the heart and a perfect state of faith and spirituality.

The most important things that give one’s life a meaning are taqwâ (piety) and sincerity. Taqwâ is to curb one’s fleshly desires and to strengthen the spiritual potential through prayers to God and doing good deeds for humanity. Hence taqwâ is required in every field of life, in our belief, worship, in our dealings with others, even in our every breath.

In this humble work at hand, we will therefore attempt to focus on the importance of contemplating and sensing, a primary legacy of the Blessed Prophet –upon him blessings and peace-, their benefits and their proper way of actualization.

Our aim throughout this book to ensure a better understanding of the nature of that celebrated, sacred age. To further serve this purpose and to provide a better idea of the breathtaking improvement human character has undergone since, we have tried to render our subject matter more tangible by including some examples of the innumerable scenes of virtue belonging to that age.
