Xander was the first supernatural being Elizabeth captured when she decided to recreate the gladiator games. He's been her unwilling slave and partner for the past two years. She fitted his neck with a device she called an Immobilizer, that ensured he did exactly what she demanded. An immobilizer is a device Elizabeth created to control her fighters. It was basically a magic device that forced the wearer to obey all commands from Elizabeth or anyone she designates.
Over time, Xander realised there were flaws in the Immobilizer. He knew he couldn’t break Elizabeth’s command but he could twist the meaning enough to benefit himself. That’s how he’s been coming and going without her knowledge. That’s how he knew he would find a way to free the woman lying on the bed. His promised mate. A genetically altered woman. Half werewolf and half Oni but one hundred percent beautiful.
If only he’d seen her before Elizabeth. Now however it was too late. She’s already fought in the arena. Just one time and she was already a crowd favorite. There was no way he was going to be able to get her out of here on his own. He needed help. He was driving himself crazy trying to remember Elizabeth’s exact words. It was so important.
