He is a poet laureate, member of important international literary academies, the winner of prestigious poetry awards, and an award-winning author, both in Italy and abroad. "The young people ran / towards the emergency exit, / to escape the bullets, / like birds caught unaware by the hunters." Only a poet – this poet – is capable of expressing in so few words all the horror and degradation that an episode of violence and terrorism can bring to mind. In these sad times of ours, which seem to have been plunged back into barbarism and fostered fear - and with fear comes hatred - everyone withdraws into his or her own self-centeredness, yet no one wants to give up acquired privileges. Indifferent or complicit to corruption and abominations, abuses of the weakest, and the exploitation of so much misery. So much for human rights! The only thing that remains human is the pain, the cry of those who shout out for justice. And poetry. Poetry that, when it is authentic and prophetic, contains a gift.

Dalla prefazione di Pasquale De Fazio: "Solo un poeta - questo poeta - è in grado di rendere in poche parole tutto l'orrore e la degradazione che un episodio di violenza e di terrorismo può richiamare alla mente. In questo nostro tempo così triste, in cui sembra di essere ripiombati nella barbarie e viene alimentata la paura, e con la paura l'odio, ognuno si chiude nel suo egoismo e nessuno vuole rinunciare ai privilegi acquisiti. Indifferente o complice di corruzione e nefandezze, prevaricazione dei più deboli e sfruttamento di tanti miseri. Altro che diritti umani! Di umano non resta che il dolore, il grido di chi chiede giustizia. E, ancora, la poesia. Poesia che, quando è autentica e profetica, contiene un dono".
