In the final installment in William DeAndrea’s Clifford Driscoll series, master spy Driscoll is “going tame”—that is, recovering from a near-death accident and enjoying domestic peace. Driscoll, now known as Allan Trotter, hasn’t killed anyone in more than a year. He still works for the Agency—a super-secret intelligence unit of the US government known only to the president and its founding congressman—but he’s too full of pins and plates to be a field agent anymore.
