Helena watches the Hun barbarians approach her estate. They are terrible men here to plunder, and everything she and her husband have might be lost in an instant. She has only one slim hope – convince them to be guests at her house, and give them everything they could desire – to turn her house into a pleasure palace for them, for one night - in return for leaving them in peace. She also has a secret plan as well: to be impregnated by a massive barbarian man, and give her husband a son at last. What she hasn’t counted on is that their leader, Octar, would be a man she wanted more than anyone she had ever met, and who will want her just as much.
Excerpt –
Octar walked up to her, and stood so close that she could feel him against her leg. She steadied herself inside, trying to make sure that she wouldn't start trembling, and then put her hand around his waist and looked up into his eyes.
"Helena," he said, staring frankly down at her body. "I feel like we should be a little less formal right now, all things considered."
She smiled at him.
"As you say. I've never been with another man apart from Gaius, you know."
He raised his eyebrows.
"Not even in secret, when you were a maiden?"
"My mother was very strict. There was really no opportunity."
He put one hand on her shoulder, and planted a finger under her chin with the other, holding her in place while his mouth descended on hers.
The skin of his hands was rough and hard, but his lips were soft, and he kissed her almost hesitantly, exploringly. His breath wasn't foul at all, to her relief.
He drew his head back, and looked down at her again, and dropped his further down.
"You're a very beautiful woman. I hope your husband appreciates that. It would be waste otherwise.
"I think so," she whispered, savoring the sensation of his rough fingertips. Truth be told, Gaius was a hard man, and a cold one. Faithful, to be certain, and not unkind. But not a passionate one. Certainly not a man who told her she was beautiful.
When she looked up at him again, he kissed her hard, and this time their tongues met and touched and probed against one another, and she felt herself growing warm and willing.
She'd been dreading this moment all day, but now that it was here, she suddenly wanted it more than anything else in the world.
