In winter 1944 the Nazis complete a pair of atomic bombs, the Manhattan Project is woefully behind schedule, and a derelict spacecraft from the future crash lands in Russia. Sixty years later the Russians have constructed a top secret military base called Kapustin Yar around the wreckage.
