Ashley's Story

Ashley Smith betrayed her husband, Matthew, in New York City, after a seven-year marriage of the most profound and sometimes frightening intimacy. Matthew was an financial economist and wall street investor and a very complicated man who was also part of a mobster crime business. Early in their relationship, before they married, Ashley had to learn from the New York crime scene about killings and blood and bools. Her heart is afraid that it will have to suffer and kill her husband, the wife one night as they looked up at the moonless sky. She tells her heart that the fear of suffering is worse than the suffering itself. Later, she understood that there was a place Matthew knew, a place that both terrified, that could eat him alive or give him the ideas he needed in order to live. Now it's Ashley's turn to face Matthew's demons. What begins as a seven year marriage full of success, becomes a nearly fatal journey into the darkness both inhabited.
