From the first three chapters in the first part we saw how it does not matter what race and colour your are when young Angela met with her destiny after being taken from the bus stop by a young man. They connected almost immediately even though they are from different background and culture, and under difficult circumstances with regards to racial issues in South Africa between Blacks and Whites. We see a young black man and a small white girl coming together and breaking racial boundaries in every aspect. He adopts her and she takes him as her guardian.
In this second part we see how this young black man becomes a father figure to Angela, taking care of her needs and well-being. He gives her first priority over everything and everyone by sacrificing his own personal needs.
Angela grows to be a teen and even discovers her gift and talent in the guidance of this young man. She is a white girl who is raised by a black man and she owns it. She is not ashamed of growing up in a multi-racial background and she overcomes all challenges and difficulties of having a black parent from her own kind.
