Anatomy Terminology

The Anatomy Terminology Study Brief is intended as a quick reference for anatomy, medical and nursing students as well as individuals affiliated with the medical profession. It collects a wealth of anatomy terminology in a concise and organized format. This Study Brief begins with a brief introduction to anatomy and a short history of medical terminology. Its primary purpose is to provide a quick reference to common anatomical terms, including terms related to body direction/movement—including planes and axes of movement, body regions, body positions, body systems—including major organ systems and functions, skeletal systems and muscular systems. Terms are organized alphabetically and categorized by topic. Terms related to cell structures, infectious organisms, diseases, treatment and diagnostics are also included.
