You shouldn't always trust fate.

No one knows that better than Mokallai, the dilapidated, desperate personage of Destiny. When he possessed Yonathael, he knew it was an extremely clever move, because Dyiij, Mokallai's arch nemesis, had profound love for Yonathael.

This bought Mokallai time to recuperate. When he met Sara, he knew she was the perfect stepping-stone to begin his plan. All he wanted was to return to his former glory, where his every whim became reality.

But Dyiij, while two nations are torn asunder in Mokallai's wake, planned to stop him. And she planned to do this through a rowdy prince, Rollond, and a mellow-but-powerful kyusoa named Ashenzsi, by offering them the opportunity to thwart their destinies, and put an end to Mokallai once and for all.

But she never said she'd stop Mokallai right then and there. Neither did she say what would happen if Rollond and Ashenzsi accepted.

Hence the dichotomy of Freedom and Fate collide.
