Sparky was at a turning point in his life.
He just retired from thirty years in the NY Subway and divorced after a marriage of nearly the same length of time.
Finding himself where so many of us do at that end of our middle age, Sparky also found that he was totally bored and all alone.
Starting to feel the extended warrantee of his body wearing out, he began a search for a magical self cure.
Sparky did what came natural to any New York City born and raised, tough, streetwise former US Navy sailor.
He figured that in his position it would need to be balls to the wall to effect change in his life and found what he thought to be the perfect comfort zone, one of gambling, booze and broads.
It was a great time for a while until that one morning when he woke up on the couch with an empty bottle of bourbon in his hand, again.
Sparky finally realized that he was now more alone than ever and getting drunk wasn’t helping. He now knew that no matter how much salt you put in the soup, it’s still just salty soup and was lost once again, drowning in boredom and booze.
Then fate dealt him a great hand and he was in the chips after a lucky gambling trip to Atlantic City.
The luckiest of his life for that matter and suddenly he had a new mission in life and had the means to chase his new found dream.
Little did he imagine that a trip to the casino, a butterfly tattoo and few words from a young NY waitress who he barely knew would set the new course of his future.
Along with his alter ego of a certain unnamed British Secret Agent, he was destined for travel, romance, adventure, excitement and danger the likes of which he had only before experienced in a drunken daydream.
Buckle up and come along on this whirlwind ride to experience the thrills, chills and company of a couple of nice broads in his quest for the butterfly tattoo.
Come on along and share in the Adventures of Sparky, I won’t tell.
