"A Sailor's Story" is fictional but based on true facts. It is the sometimes raucous, but always interesting and realistic tale of Michael Parsons and his life's journey.

The story begins in Michael's teenage years, starting with him dropping out of college. Working at various jobs, including 7/11 stores and the insurance business, where Michael meets Jennifer, the love of his life. She convinces him to join the Navy where Michael's real story begins.

After the rigors of boot camp,the fun of his "A" school and many other adventures Michael reports onboard the USS Stark an ill fated vessel.

Michael is severely injured when the Stark is hit by two Exocet missiles, leaving him disfigured and a hopeless cripple.

After a failed suicide attempt Michael wakes up in the hospital with new hope in his life. He has had an epiphany.If he can compete in and complete Hawaii's Iron Man Triathlon, he can do anything.

Triumphant, he begins his new life helping veterans who have been crippled in war.
