Lena Baker is the only woman to ever be electrocuted in the Sate of Georgia. It was 1945 and her crime was killing a white man. The charge should have been manslaughter, but she was black and he was white. It was south Georgia, and at that time living black and white was a crime. Lena wasn't a Saint, but she didn't receive a fair trial from the all white men's jury. Her court appointed lawyer never made one objection. The trial lasted 30 minutes.This is a play about what might have happened in the jury room and who the men might have been.
