This eBook is designed to empower individuals, businesses, non-profits, and public organizations to grow high quality native plants for their projects in support of biodiversity and restoration. The 13 Chapter eBook is sectioned off into 3 parts; Part 1. A Native Nursery Model, Part 2. Native Plant Propagation, Part 3. Sales, Installation and Native Plant Horticultural Guidance. Due to the amount of embedded hyperlinks and videos, this ebook is more valuable than it could be as a printed book.

Our goal with this ebook is to make the lack of native plant availability a non-issue through providing people the native plant tailored horticultural knowledge needed to propagate native plants. It is most applicable to the states and regions depicted on the underlying map of the book cover. The information in this ebook is sourced from the first hand experience of the business; Indigenous Landscapes.

Part 1. A Native Nursery Model - 4 Chapters ; A Guide for Empowerment, Nursery Materials vs. Pay-off, Nursery Layout, Watering and Fencing

Part 1 provides you with the needed list of materials, costs, and formatting to mimic or adapt our nursery model for your purposes. Our 40 x 40 native nursery can produce 5,000 high quality native herbaceous perennials or 5,000 native tree/shrub saplings in addition to over 1,400 1.14 gallon native trees and shrubs watered by a timer controlled oscillating sprinkler. This format produces 45k-55k worth of affordably priced stock, annually while averaging 8-12 hour work weeks during the growing season at full capacity. This model can easily be doubled or tripled, or made smaller for small-scale propagation.

Part 2. Native Plant Propagation – 6 Chapters; Herbaceous Plants, Woody Plants, Recommended Pots and Fertilizers, Seed Sowing and Transplanting Seedlings, Growing on a Micro-scale for Small Projects, Organic Pest Management

Part 2 expands on the nursery model through detailing our unique pot system and customized fertilizing program. These chapters offer the scarification and stratification information derived from what has succeeded for us in germinating over 115 native trees, shrubs, and perennials. We also provide methods that will work for germinating most of the native plant species that aren’t within the list of 115.

Part 3. Sales, Installation, and Native Plant Horticultural Guidance – 3 Chapters; Selling the Plant Stock, Installation, and Native Plant Horticultural Guidance

Part 3 gives professional advice on selling and installing the plant stock, building a network, and becoming a skillful designer with these seed-grown, uncultivated native plants.
