A LOVE IS BORN IN THE MIDST OF HORROR ...
(“The Golgotha of Meligalas”—Third Edition)

The historical novel A Love Is Born In the Midst of Horror ... captures and brings to life with the most somber colors a crucial period of modern history to the land of Greece; a period that came to tarnish the glory and grandeur of the battle in the Albanian front, when in unison the Greek people stood up to superior forces uttering the heroic NO.

Το Ελληνικο πρωτότυπο υπάρχει στη διεύθυνση: https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/348216

"Why so much hatred of Moria (Peloponnese)?" "Why so much hatred between Greek brothers?" The author of this project, an eyewitness of all that had happened, attempts to give clear answers to questions that have preoccupied many and have been at times interpreted at will.

The main characters of the novel are George and Frosso; two young people who met and fell in love under adverse conditions. He was a communist, she was a daughter of a dissident. They lived during the occupation and civil war in the Peloponnese and experienced the after-war inhumanity, absurdity, and the horror of Meligalas in Messinia.

The reader will become a witness of the merciless siege of Meligalas by the Greek People’s Liberation Army (ELAS). He will follow the crimes committed in the streets and homes of Meligalas immediately after its fall. He will be stunned by the brutal execution of hundreds of innocent people and the desecration of the dead inside the Well. He will feel the pain and the wailing of the mother, the wife, the sister who are obliged to observe the execution of their own kinsmen.

The approach of historical facts is made with absolute respect for the historic reality and the dispassionate search for truth, while highlighting many unknown aspects of the tragic events of that era.
