A Good Day to Die

A Good Day to Die is a journey into the heart of the Islamic Republic of Iran where religious fanatics obsessed with Jihad and martyrdom have established a society ruled by sharia, Islamic law. A person who breaks the law is condemned as an enemy of Allah. Baber Shaul is a young man, struggling to survive the Islamic Revolution. His hunger for freedom is not only futile but dangerous, because in Iran all gestures, even the most private, are interpreted in political terms. A Good Day to Die sheds light on the ideology of Jihad, the philosophy of suicide bombing, and the effect of political oppression on the human spirit.
