Following the events of A Gentleman’s Folly, Jacob is enraged when he discovers that his wife, Rachel, is still meeting with her denounced lover, Alex. Finding them entering a hotel together, Jacob goes on the warpath. This novella explores the rocky road of marriage, especially after that marriage has been shaken up by infidelity, lies and secrets. Jacob and Rachel each try to do what they think is right only to find that their actions lead to more devastating complications on both sides. However, despite their shortsighted attempts and failings, they each struggle to maintain what remains of their misguided trust and broken marriage. This story was written for anyone who has ever been in an imperfect relationship, which was comprised of two people missing the mark and making mistakes at one too many turns. Enjoy!
