In his work, the author proves that the transition decade in the states of
the Central and Eastern Europe will continue to decisively determine the
functioning and the success of these societies even after the accession of
the most successful transition states to the European Union. Undoubtedly,
the aim of the analysis of this unique historical process is not only to

future opportunities of transition states to ensure genuine economic and
social development.
