There are many people who are unable to enjoy a fulfilling relationship with God because they are unable to separate God from some form of religion that dictates their thoughts and actions.
This book is written for those who think that relationship with God only exists within a religious context; for those who have given up on religion but are unsure about God; and for those who are unsure about either God or religion.
Barrie has attempted to answer some of the questions that these people might have, without resorting to religious terminology. Nevertheless, all the ideas presented are backed up with scripture, but these references have been kept separate from the main text and are found in the end notes.
Barrie Down studied Applied Physics at London University (England), and attended Eastern Pentecostal Bible College (Canada). He is now retired, and has spent most of his working life in the scientific and engineering community, working freelance for over twenty years, and for major science and engineering organizations in England and Canada. He spent ten years teaching engineering to Industrial Design students, and ten years in ministry as director of Christian Education at a major church in Toronto.
Barrie is a published author in the field of automotive history, and lives in Toronto with Holly Down, B.A., M.A., his wife of 43 years, with whom he has shared the experiences that have led to this book, and who has contributed greatly to the writing of it.
